You are invited to a special evening hosted by our Principal to bring insight on the important issues impacting students and their families. This event provides a welcoming space to explore solutions that strengthen our community, guided by knowledgable professionals.
Our first Parent Engagement Event will focus on the topic of UNDERSTANDING ANXIETY and is suited to parents and carers of both primary and secondary students. We know anxiety can be overwhelming, and we aim to equip you with resources and practical tips to help navigate through challenging times.
Our guest speaker for the evening is GPCC Counselling Coordinator Nikki Reid.
Nikki is a gifted counsellor with a degree in Christian Counselling. With 13 years of experience, Nikki started in private practice, offering crisis support to women in refuges. She was also the program counsellor for the "Bump" program, offering support to pregnant teenagers. Nikki has also volunteered as a facilitator for the Celebrate Recovery Program at EV church for 6 years, and worked in Erina High School as a Chaplain for 8 years. Her counselling style is deeply rooted in her faith, and believes that knowing our Heavenly Father is vital to our healing journey. She believes true healing comes from the Holy Spirit working our hearts. Her style as a therapist is very Rogerian; client centered focused on creative and experimental therapies such as sandtray, play therapy, art therapy and more.
Nikki will be joined by School Counsellors Matt Hannah and Carolyn Corkhill for this event.
